Hi Folks!
We’re Sarah and Brad, and you may know us as the hosts of the Making Local Markets that have been popping up in Bothell since the fall of 2021.
FOLK is a shop dedicated to the spirit of the Markets featuring products from small, local, handmade businesses. Most of these businesses have been vendors at the Market at one time or another over the years, but we’re excited to add new favorites to discover in the shop as well!
From Market to Shop
The Making Local Markets were started in 2021 to fill a regional gap in pop up events for small, local, handmade businesses. In downtown Bothell, the Markets have been popping up 4-6 times a year since, and have also expanded to other nearby cities like Mountlake Terrace.
The goal of the Markets has always been to highlight the super diverse small, local, handmade businesses, food vendors, and community in the Pacific Northwest.
At FOLK, you’ll find that same spirit of handmade goods, handcrafted items, local art, and of course, community. Come shop from the incredible vendors that have been at the Markets and stay to discover new favorites!

*You may find a shop dog or two at FOLK, but unlikely all three will be there at any one time… because omg…the chaos.
EMERSON
“Emmy”
Emmy is the sweetest guy ever and our og bubs. He’s so chill and just wants to be around you but isn’t needy, until he wants to play and then he’s the most demanding.
AGE: 8
NICKNAMES: Ems, Bubs, Sir Bubs-a-Lot, Bubby Bubs, Emsies, Sir
CHARACTER: Loves toys, vinyl records, ham, and does not like getting wet.
JOSEPHINE
“Jojo”
Jojo is our bowlegged girl who just adores people, but not so much other dogs, so you may not see her in the shop much. She is a character with the most expressive faces and she’ll let you know when she wants something!
AGE: 7.5
NICKNAMES: Jo, Jojo Potato, Baby Girl, Girlfriend
CHARACTER: Loves getting face kisses, car rides, cheese, and does not love vegetables.
*Jojo is white and brown/red, where Frankie is basically all white with some little black spots.
FRANCES
“Frankie”
Frankie was rehomed to us when she was four and she is the most hilarious personality. The best snuggler, most vocal dog, and so demanding. She’ll sit right at your feet and ask for attention, so come prepared. She also has chronic ear infections so don’t be surprised if she leans into an ear rub or is a little stinky.
AGE: almost 8
NICKNAMES: Frank, Frank-a-dank, Frankenstien, Stanky Frank, Ma’am
CHARACTER: Loves a big rubber ball, full body snuggles, stealing toys from Emmy, and does not love being told what to do.
